As an organization with more than a century of experience in caring for our community, the Valley of the Sun YMCA responds quickly to these challenges; creatively expanding our programs to meet our community when, where and how we are needed most.
Thanks to the generous support of our donors, we can continue to ensure the health, safety and well-being of every YMCA child and family. We are working to pave the way for a bright future to all of our community no matter their age, race, gender or socioeconomic status.
Y programs support parents in creating stronger families to lower child poverty, reduce social-isolation, increase positive health outcomes, and increase family income.
In 2023, the Y will: Provide financial assistance to low-income families to access high quality Early Learning, After School, and Sports programs
Y programs provide experiences that build a sense of belonging and welcome young people to develop their self-identity.
In 2023, the Y will: Provide scholarships for 15 teens to participate in our Youth & Government program, provide teens with a safe space to be themselves and build life skills
Y programs provide critical safety around water knowledge and teach swimming skills for youth and adults.
In 2023, the Y will: Provide 200 youth with swim lessons free of charge
Y programs work to reduce depression and fear through outreach and safe social gatherings.
In 2023, the Y will: Provide experiences such as Active Older Adults for seniors to socialize and develop a healthy lifestyle, and provide social engagement services through the YMCA Outreach Program for Aging Seniors program
