We need your help to raise £1,500 for Koby, Libby & Freda 🙏

Shrewsbury rabbit rescue is a not for profit, ethical rescue and sanctuary in Shropshire. We’re very proud of our gold standard vet care and ability to make a real difference in bettering the lives of rabbits across the UK.

Story

Koby is an SRR sanctuary rabbit that sadly has glaucoma.Glaucoma is a common eye condition where the optic nerve, which connects the eye to the brain, becomes damaged. Due to this, Koby lives with us permanently and may need eye removal in future. We tried to bond Koby into our existing sanctuary groups but a group dynamic wasn’t for Koby and he really struggled with aggressive behaviours, this resulted in some of the other rabbits getting injured during the bonding process and we decided it was best for Koby to pick 1 or 2 rabbits to be with instead. Koby was then bonded with Freda and Libby and we toyed with the idea of potentially trying to bond them into one of the groups again, but have recently made the decision that it’s probably best to the leave them as a trio. With this decision, came the question as to where will the trio live? They’ve been at the main sanctuary site for a couple months but this was never a permanent solution as the space was too small to meet their needs for a long term basis. We reached out to our trusted foster team and asked if any of them would consider permanently fostering the trio, ‘me’ said Sheryl 😁 and we’ve gratefully accepted! Now, we really need a building for the trio to live in and we of course reached out to happy habitats who can make this happen next week! But we need to urgently raise the funds for this to become reality and we really hope you can help 🙏
