Sussex Reptile Rescue Centre is a newly established charity based in Bognor Regis, West Sussex, dedicated to the welfare of reptiles and amphibians. Since opening our doors in September 2025, we've responded to a growing demand for specialised care, offering rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming services across Sussex and the surrounding Areas. Whether it's an abandoned pet, an injured wild reptile, or an exotic species in distress, we work tirelessly to provide safe, species-appropriate care and to educate the public on how to support these fascinating animals properly.
Sussex Reptile Rescue Centre is a newly formed, community-driven charity based in Bognor Regis, West Sussex. We officially launched operations in September 2024, driven by a passion for rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming reptiles and amphibians in need across Sussex and surrounding areas.
Since our inception, we've seen a sharp rise in the number of reptiles requiring urgent care. From abandoned pet pythons to injured native lizards and improperly housed exotic reptiles, we’re seeing firsthand the consequences of misunderstanding and neglect. As one of the few dedicated reptile-specific rescue centres in the region, demand for our services is growing faster than our current resources allow.
We aim to provide compassionate, specialist care to every animal that comes through our doors, while also working to educate the public about responsible reptile ownership and conservation. Our work helps individual animals and supports wider community awareness and wildlife welfare.
To meet the growing demand, we urgently need funding to upgrade our facilities, purchase essential veterinary and husbandry equipment, move to commercial premises, expand our outreach programmes, and support volunteer training. With your help, we can build a sustainable rescue centre that offers reptiles in crisis a second chance and fosters lasting change in how these animals are understood and treated.
