Ronnie is doing this in the loving memory of Damian and Claires (Ronnies friends) beautiful little girl Roxie who sadly passed away peacefully during her sleep.
Hi, we're Claire and Damian, parents to Lennon & Roxie. We were a very happy family enjoying family life and many adventures together. Our daughter Roxie had just celebrated her first birthday on 2nd August 2015 and a couple of days after came out in spots around her mouth which doctors confirmed was the virus called hand, foot and mouth. We were told it was common in children and very contagious. Roxie was quite poorly with the virus, but doctors reassured us that given a week all would be fine and Roxie would be back to her normal self again. After a week the virus had given Roxie a throat infection which she was given medicine for and almost straight away seemed loads better and she started getting back to her normal, cheeky, playful self. On Saturday 15th August 2015 Lennon woke us up at his usual time of 6am and we woke to find Roxie no longer breathing.
Roxie had passed away in her sleep.
We were in total disbelief; our beautiful little girl and Lennon's loving sister was no longer with us. We cannot describe the pain and our whole world has now been turned upside down.Doctors were unsure of Roxies cause of death. After many months of waiting and specimens of Roxies body being tested we were told Roxie was wrongly diagnosed and in fact had come into contact with the cold sore virus. Pathologists believe the virus has spread to her brain and slowly shut it down resulting in her stopping breathing. We will never know why Roxies body was unable to cope as this was reported as unheard of for a child of 1years old. We have searched the internet for hours trying to find help which is relevant to us and gain knowledge about infant death of children aged over one. We have struggled to find anything other than Elliot's Footprint. We are very concerned that in the West Yorkshire area there is not enough help for or knowledge of infant death over one years old. We therefore decided to help Elliot's footprint fundraise and use our experience to help others over something that no parent or sibling deserves to go through. We miss Roxie more & more every single day and as a family will never be complete without her, we are a strong family and we will use our memories to help us each day. A year after Roxie passed away Lacey-Hope was born 19/08/16 our 'rainbow baby' ...after every storm there is a rainbow, a rainbow of hope!
Thank you in advance for all kind donations.
