Work has already started on major repairs to the roof and spire. However, as the project has progressed more issues have come to light, and what was originally estimated to cost about £19,000 is now expected to exceed £50,000.
The photographs show something of the problem as well as works undertaken to make the building safe, secure and watertight. This has required removal of an extensive area of the roof to enable the replacement of rotten timbers and wall plates. Other areas of the roof have received attention and we hope to move on to complete further work on the spire.
With your help and support, we will be able to continue to offer our church as a building that has served its community for the past 175 years.
