Story
This May, Jonathan Docksey of Design JD is taking on an epic challenge, climbing the equivalent height of Mount Everest on a StairMaster at the gym, all to support Croydon Vision.
That's 8,849 metres of pure determination, sweat and stair-climbing grit.
No sherpa. No oxygen tank. No mountain air. No summit views.
Just a StairMaster, stubbornness, and step after step, indoors — powered by purpose.
Why This Challenge?
This year, Design JD turned 20. The milestone felt like it deserved more than a pat on the back, so we've made 2026 a year of giving back.
Jonathan has chosen to dedicate this challenge to Croydon Vision, a charity supporting blind and partially sighted people across Croydon to live more independent, connected and confident lives.
Why Croydon Vision?
Croydon Vision works every day to ensure people with sight loss don't face isolation or barriers alone. From practical support and accessible technology to social connection, wellbeing and creative opportunities, their work helps people go further than sight loss might suggest is possible.
Every donation, big or small, will help Croydon Vision continue supporting local people to thrive, not just cope.
£10 - Pays for a delicious two-course lunch for one member, ensuring they enjoy a nutritious meal and social connection at Croydon Vision.
£50 - Covers transport for a week, allowing a member to safely travel to and from Croydon Vision for activities or support to access our advocacy and counselling services.
£100 - Funds six digital support sessions, empowering members to confidently use accessible technology, from smartphones to specialised software, enhancing independence and engagement.
