- 24,000 steps a day for a month
- 24 miles in a week
- 240,000 steps in 24 hours
Take these steps on your own, or virtually with a friend or as part of a team.
Our innovative project in Niger is supporting 24,000 people who were born into slavery take their first steps to freedom. Weve established schools for children, are teaching adults how to start their own businesses and are giving them microloans to do so, and were teaching communities about their rights and empowering them to stand up for them.
They join thousands of others around the world who are building lives in freedom.
- £24 could help a child go to school for a year
- £53 could pay for a cow, and training for a former victim to look after it
- £183 helps an adult to learn how to learn and start a small business
In April, we challenge you to step out and walk more steps every day, in solidarity with the 40 million people around the world trapped in modern slavery. By stepping up we can bring freedom to everyone, everywhere.
Slavery takes away the basic human rights that many of us take for granted; to live life freely and happily, and for children to learn, play and flourish.
