Story
STAR began in 2020 and is already working nationally to upskill and train churches and communities in the much needed area of addiction.
It is estimated that 90% of people today have a habit, compulsive behaviour or as full blown as an addiction that if they were free of they would be happier. At STAR we aim to address this growing area of crisis and upskill the largest known volunteer network within churches and community based organisations.
To continue this work and develop more programmes to specifically work with young people, prisons and provide ongoing mentoring we are embarking upon the Steps for STAR Challenge, where supporters create their own challenge involving steps, whether it be a walk, marathon or anything else.
STAR's CEO and founder Emma starts this challenge with attempting to complete 1 million steps for STAR in just 2 months and finishing with a 15k Tough Mudder, which is the equivalent of walking to Paris and back. The challenge will be a tough one, yet she believes that recovery begins with the first step and all funds will go to support the work of the amazing charity that is growing month by month.
We have a big goal to see 1 million lives impacted by STAR over time and you can play a part in helping us to look forwards to this culture changing approach that STAR delivers
