Story
The first part of our fundraiser is raising money for the Christie Cancer Hospital in Manchester. The school has a deep connection with this hospital as one of our Year 12 students, Aimee, was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a form of white blood cell cancer. Aimee is currently receiving treatment in the young adult's ward of the hospital. She is currently studying History, English Literature and Psychology and is continuing her studies throughout her treatment. Your support will go towards funding for research and improving the quality of life for everyone at the hospital.
The second part of our fundraiser is raising money for the New Hope Kenyan orphanage, where the school has a long-standing commitment to help raise funds for the school. Previously we have funded a chemistry teacher’s salary, which helped the children gain the scientific knowledge they require to pass their standardised tests. The orphanage works to look after children of any age, raising and educating them until they are fit for the world, they also have the grandmother’s centre, where grandmothers are looked after and cared for by the dedicated staff.
Your support will go towards buying computers for the school children, allowing them to access greater resources for their education.
Upon completion of our goal a select few teachers will be shaving their heads, this will include our Assistant Head Teacher Mr Sanders
Thank you for your support!
