Arrive Alive is the only registered charity in the UK dedicated to funding voluntary operated Community First Responder vehicles to CFR’s across the UK which provide emergency medical assistance within communities to deliver lifesaving treatment which are deployed via a 999 call.

Story

Arrive Alive was founded by Debbie Roscoe following her daughters life threatening illness. Debbie found herself in a position no parent or loved one should face needing emergency medical help, following her daughters illness being dismissed as a simple virus from a GP. Within a couple of hours of visiting her GP Ellie, Debbies daughter was in resuscitation at Heartlands Hospital in Birmingham, she was successfully treated by the infectious diseases department at the hospital. Ellie also suffers from numerous other conditions as well as life threatening anaphylactic allergies.

Arrive Alive is solely funded by public donations and is dedicated to funding vital lifesaving vehicles and equipment for Community First Responders (CFRs). CFRs are medically trained volunteers who are regulated and dispatched to life threatening 999 calls by West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS).

An Arrive Alive vehicle can reach a 999 medical emergency in those vital seconds/minutes prior to a road or air ambulance due to being directly based within the heart of the community. CFRs are trained to deal with some of the most time critical medical emergencies. All of our vehicles are on the same radio network as a standard road or air ambulance to receive the details of the medical emergency, following a 999 call.

Demand is greater than ever on our current operational lifesaving vehicles and equipment. An additional eight voluntary operated lifesaving equipped vehicles are urgently needed to join the existing fleet of Arrive Alive vehicles on the frontline. WMAS is the largest the ambulance service in the UK they cover over 5000 square miles with a population of approximately 60 million people. At present there are just over 400 WMAS road ambulances to cover this area and receive approximately 4000, 999 calls everyday.
