Story
Steps To Success
This July, we’re inviting individuals and teams to take part in the Steps to Success Challenge in support of Future Frontiers.
From 1 - 17 July, participants will track their steps using the StepUp app and compete in a friendly challenge with colleagues and other organisations.
In the UK, family income remains one of the strongest predictors of a young person’s future opportunities. Research also shows that even when people from working-class backgrounds enter professional careers, they can still earn 17% less than their peers from more affluent backgrounds.
The Steps to Success Challenge lasts 17 days to reflect this 17% pay gap and raise awareness of the barriers many young people still face in accessing opportunities and fulfilling careers.
No marathons. No intense training plans. Just walking.
From lunchtime walks to weekend hikes, every kind of step is welcome.
How it works
1. Sign up using our registration form
2. Make a suggested £5 donation to take part
3. We’ll send you everything you need to:
• create your team on JustGiving (or take part individually)
• download and join the StepUp app
• Start tracking and get stepping! 👣
Participants can take part individually or as part of a team, and teams will be able to compare their progress with colleagues and other organisations on the leader board throughout the challenge.
Participants are also welcome to fundraise alongside the challenge if they would like to support Future Frontiers further, but there is no fundraising target or minimum amount required to take part.
Why we’re taking on the challenge
At Future Frontiers, we support under-resourced young people to develop the knowledge, skills, confidence and connections to broaden their horizons and take positive steps towards their futures.
Through personalised careers coaching, skills development and exposure to professional role models, we help young people feel more confident about their futures and clearer about their next steps.
The Steps to Success Challenge is a simple way to come together, get moving and support young people across London to access opportunities and fulfil their potential. ⭐
