Step Up for FASD – Every Step Makes a Difference
On Sunday 20 September, we'll be lacing up our brightest red shoes and walking together through the beautiful grounds of Leeds Castle, Kent, for something much bigger than a 5K walk.
We'll be walking for understanding.
We'll be walking for acceptance.
We'll be walking for the thousands of children, young people, adults, and families living with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).
FASD is a lifelong hidden disability caused by prenatal alcohol exposure. Despite affecting many families across the UK, it remains one of the least understood and most overlooked disabilities. Too many individuals face daily challenges without the understanding, support, and recognition they deserve.
That's why we're taking part in the global #RedShoesRock campaign and raising funds for FASD Awareness.
This special walk will be led by children and adults living with FASD themselves—individuals who show incredible resilience, determination, creativity, and strength every day. Their stories remind us why awareness matters and why we must continue working towards a more informed, inclusive, and compassionate society.
As we walk the 5K route, every step will help spark conversations about FASD. Every donation will help fund awareness campaigns, education, advocacy, and support for families who often feel isolated and misunderstood.
But this is about more than fundraising.
It's about helping people feel seen.
It's about challenging stereotypes and misconceptions.
It's about creating a future where individuals with FASD are understood, supported, and empowered to thrive.
Whether you are donating £5 or £50, your support will make a real difference. Together, we can help ensure that more families receive the information, resources, and support they need.
So, on 20 September, we'll put on our red shoes and walk with purpose.
For awareness.
For understanding.
For families.
For hope.
Thank you for supporting our Step Up for FASD: Red Shoes 5K Walk. Every donation, no matter the size, helps us take another step towards a more inclusive future.
