Story
St John's Church has recently celebrated its 200th anniversary which was recognised with a week of diverse and highly enjoyable events. The week started with the Beating the Bounds walk, an ancient tradition where walkers map out the Parish Boundary.
The church is raising funds to install modest kitchen facilities so that we can do even more of what we do best - cuppa and cake!
The 2025 Sponsored Walk in aid of church funds will take place on Saturday 4th October. We will leave at 10-00 a.m. and the route will start at Whiteleaf Cross from where we will make our way to St. John's Church. The overall distance will be approximately four miles, and even though Lacey Green sits atop the Chilterns, the route shouldn't be too hilly.
When the walkers arrive at St. John's, naturally we will get the kettle on, and have a welcome cup of tea or coffee, along with some cake to restore our energy levels. If you are not taking part in the walk, you will be very welcome to join us at the end of the walk to meet the returning ramblers, and just chat and socialise with everyone.
