Taking part in Story Space means creating a magical space to read for a day. You know the importance of reading - and so do we.

At Book Aid International we provide over one million new books every year in the places where they will make the biggest difference. In 2023 we supplied books to 771 public and community libraries, and 2,065 schools. But we can only do this with your support. 

That’s why, this autumn you, along with many others across the UK, will be doing something amazing. Wearing your comfiest clothes and helping to create a magical reading space so that together we can share the joy of reading across the world.

Every £2 donation from your Story Space event could help Book Aid International deliver a brand-new book that will mean everything to a child like Rachel.

Rachel is six and lives in Malawi. In her community most families struggle to make a living from small-scale farming. Even if her rural community wasn’t many miles from the nearest bookshop, buying books would be impossible for her family - they simply couldn’t afford it. But thanks to donations from schools like yours, the children in Rachels community now have access to a vibrant rich school library. This is their story space, where they get to experience the magic of reading.

Thanks to your fundraising, more children like Rachel will find their own story space - connecting with your pupils and sharing in the love and magic that is getting lost in a favourite book.
