Story

In Autumn 2026, the streets, parks, and open spaces of Brighton & Hove become a storybook.

Amaze, your local charity supporting families with disabled children, has partnered with Wild in Art to bring you The Story Trail —a free, fun and family-friendly adventure.

Between September and November 2026, you can uncover a city-wide gallery of more than 30 giant book benches. Each one is an open book, designed by a talented local artist and waiting to be discovered.

The story continues with a heartwarming collection of smaller benches, lovingly decorated by local schools and community groups, adding their own chapters to our city's tale.

Children and their families, young people, staff and volunteers are all getting involved as part of the Story Trail Learner Programme. We invite you all to be inspired, get imaginative and celebrate the uniqueness of Brighton & Hove and the wider Sussex community.

By supporting the trail and raising funds for Amaze, you help write a brighter chapter for local families. In Sussex, one in six families navigates the daily challenges of raising a child with a disability or special educational needs (SEND). Your support helps friends and neighbours access expert advice, practical support and a community of other families with similar experiences.
