Cherish school is a relatively new school, providing a safe haven for the poorest children living in the slums of Nakuru, Kenya. The majority of the children do not have the support of parents or family and can often be looked after by siblings or other relatives.

The daily meals provided by Cherish school are essential, often their only source of food.

Our cook who provides the meals has to work extremely hard in a smoke filled shelter with limited space, and equipment.

A purpose built kitchen was completed last year and the dining room is adjacent to this. We are hoping to buy the stove and purchase the additional equipment needed to support the cook and improve the meals provided. The £900 target will cover the cost and installation of the cooker. Any additional funds raised will be used to purchase tables and other equipment for the kitchen.
