St Peter's C of E Primary School Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) is] a UK-registered charity bringing together our fantastic school community here in Wrecclesham, Farnham. All our parents with children enrolled at St Peter's School are automatically members of this community. A team of active volunteers devote time and energy to run the PTFA to deliver fundraising initiatives for all the family to enjoy, for example: Fireworks night, School Disco, Break the rules day, Pilates classes, Your Lottery, Preloved Uniform, Cake sales. Thousands of pounds are raised each year and reinvested directly into your child's school experience. We have the ability to make a difference, we can enhance the teacher's, and children's, environment. For example, the PTFA funded the outdoor play area and recently bought interactive white boards and new laptops for classroom use. The PTFA coordinates closely with the School Council to review and approve funding requests from pupils and teachers. We actively encourage you as parents to dedicate some time or support during your child’s time at our school - and JustGiving is one of those ways. THANK YOU!

Story

Schools across the country will be participating in the Mini London Marathon in April and May 2025 - both in London and onsite at their own school. This is the first year St Peter's has participated and the PTFA is very excited to help raise vital funds for the school!

As you may know, St Peter's has an all weather running track on the school field which means that pupils can maintain their fitness and stamina all year round. This is in desperate need of a full renovation, in the order of £60,000! The Daily Mile is a core part of a pupil's week at St Peter's and teachers choose when their class will run, fitting it in to an appropriate part of the school day. Running also has huge benefits for mental health and wellbeing. A short burst of physical activity boosts the readiness for learning as it has an impact on mood, alertness, verbal memory and reaction time. We have Daily Mile leaders and at various points in the year, classes compete for the greatest distance completed.

We hope that a new track will continue to inspire enthusiasm for running throughout the school and we regularly field the largest team in the Farnham and District Schools Cross Country events. St Peter's now organises this incredible event which is held in Farnham Park on two Saturdays across the year.
