From the beginning in 2005 when we came to Bradford our desire has been to live the Gospel and to give practical and spiritual support to those in need, bringing the Gospel to all in simple and creative ways. This year has been such a blessing for us! The challenges have made us become more creative and more focussed on the essential aspects of our life and mission. From adapting our soup kitchen service to livestreaming our prayer and evangelization events the Lord has helped us to be faithful and generous in this year of uncertainty and difficulty. The support we have received this year from many has made all of this possible. The Lord has provided for our soup kitchen ministry in incredible ways for example!
In communion with our bishops, thank you to all who sent letters to their MPs and others regarding the unjust closure of our Covid-secure Churches. Since early December it has been such a blessing to re-open the Church for public worship and for our retreats and prayer groups. Details of what is available can be found here:
St Patrick's Mission
In keeping with our vow of poverty, the friars have few personal needs. We are however, responsible for the maintenance and daily running expenses of the friary. Many people support us regularly for which we are very grateful. People often call asking what's on our "begging board". It is wonderful to have so many sharing in our life and mission in this way.
The current campaign is in response to a friend who has offered a Match Funding gift of up to £4000.00. This support would be a great help towards our costs for the winter and spring months. We pray for our benefactors and volunteers daily and offer a mass for all of our benefactors on the first Friday of each month. Thank you for your support.
