No child left behind: fom street corners to learning centers
Street Kids Education Initiative will work for the public benefit to advance the education of children in Pakistan, in particular street children, those out of school or in forced labour, through the provision of school places, helping them prepare for admission test in various formal schools, giving support with homework and arranging daily meals for the students.
To accomplish this goal, we have made the decision to establish a partnership with Ran’aa Child Welfare Foundation to provide support and enable street children to participate in a dedicated and structured program, offering them access to quality education and necessary resources.
Our success stories:
1. Muhammad Aqil used to sell donuts in Saddar Bazzar, Peshawar to support his educational expenses but had a passion for study. He is from Buner and son of a laborer. RCWF got to know about him from a volunteer and his college fee, hostel fee and other educational expenses were sponsored. RCWF also sponsored his ETEA test expenses. By the grace of Allah and his hard work, he got admission in Industrial Engineering in UET Peshawar. Ran’aa bore his educational expenses in UET too. After his graduation, he is currently working at Haier Pakistan as Management Trainee Officer
2. Yasir an underprivileged child labor and joined Ran’aa 5 year back. He was a child vendor and worked as scrap collector too. Yasir remained a bright student throughout his academic journey at Ran’aa and managed to pass the scholarship test offered by Peshawar Model School. He is currently enrolled in Class 8 at Peshawar Model School and is aiming to achieve more. He scored 85% marks in his first exam at Peshawar Model School and continued to work even harder, achieving 87%, 89% and finally 91% marks in his most recent exams. He also convinced his father to let her sisters come to Ran’aa and study. Alhamdulillah’s, Yasir along with his 1 brother and 3 sisters are currently enrolled in Peshawar Model School.
3. Yasmin mother told us the horrifying story of how her father wanted to sell her off for money. Her father is a drug addict. RCWF convinced her father not to sell her. We will borne all their expenses. Currently, RCWF is bearing all their expenses including ration, medical expenses, educational expenses and pocket money. Yasmin was enrolled recently in one of the prestigious school of Peshawar and doesn’t take a leave.
