Approximately 700,000 children in England rely on the support of social workers each year. We create social change for these children by developing excellent social work practice, leadership and innovation through our programmes, and a movement of leaders in social work through our Fellowship.

Story

We invite you to support ‘Stride through summer’, Frontline's new summer walking challenge.

We are asking you to walk 700,000 steps - one for every child who needs a social worker each year - between 1 July and 31 August, to raise funds for our vital work. We are asking each walker to raise at least £100. All those who do this and walk 700,000 steps will receive a medal at the end of the challenge. If you find the steps target daunting, why not buddy up with a friend and create a JustGiving page together or get your family out and enjoying the fresh air?

Starting on 1 July, you will walk on average 11,290 steps a day to reach a grand total of 700,000 by the end of the challenge. It is designed to be tough, but no tougher than the workloads of the amazing social workers we support and certainly not as tough as life can get for some of the children and young people for whom our fellows are essential allies.

Lace up, put your best foot forward and, for those who are supporting from the comfort of your chair or desk, please dig deep to help improve outcomes and futures for children and families.
