St Rocco’s Hospice provides specialist care and support across Warrington, helping those who are coping with a life-limiting illness. It costs around £4.5 million each year to run the hospice – which means we need to raise £12,000 each and every day just to keep running.

Story

St. Rocco's Hospice fundraising team has asked ten brave volunteers to model ladies' fashion. This would not be possible without the generous support of Sorelle Style ladies' boutique in Stockton Heath.

Meet our first Model, Kellie

Mum of three Kellie from Winwick, told us she had to get involved when she saw our advert for models. With no previous modelling experience, Kellie has decided to take part in memory of her friend Debs and her Mum.

Debbie, Mum of two, was diagnosed with bowel cancer in May 2020, and after numerous complications, she passed away a week before Christmas last year. Debbie received invaluable care from Clatterbridge Cancer Hospital, and St Rocco's throughout her diagnosis. Debbie and her husband Russ were committed to raising funds for Bowel Cancer charities and, as a family, have raised thousands of pounds to help continue the excellent work. Kellie is determined to fundraise in Debbie and her Mum's honour and is always up for a new challenge.

Meet our second model, Lisa

Like many of us, Lisa has had friends and family affected by cancer and so jumped at the opportunity to support. She told us about a close friend and cousin who have battled through treatment and can now say they are survivors but sadly lost her Dad along the way. Its because of these people and everyone else who requires our care that Lisa will be fundraising to ensure we can continue caring for our patients and their families when they need us most.

Lisa is part of the team at Onyx Salon in Lymm where she will be fundraising to help raise her sponsorship for this challenge. Lisa is feeling excited about the experience and is looking forward to modelling Sorelle Style clothing with the other ladies on the night.

Meet our third model, Katharine

Katharine, who has supported the hospice over the years decided to join the modelling team after seeing our appeal for models in Sorelle Style where she is a regular shopper. Katharine works as a health care scientist in transplantation and feels that end of life care is a very important and underfunded aspect of healthcare and would like to support her local hospice.

With no previous modelling experience, it is something Katharine has always wanted to do. As Katharine was approaching her 50th birthday last year she decided to make some lifestyle changes. She completed the Couch25K, did an image course and has since lost over 5 stone. She told us that she feels like a new woman and that modelling for St Roccos feels like a reward to herself for all the hard work she has put in the last few years and an incentive to keep going and not get complacent as well as supporting such a great cause.

Meet our fourth model, Andrea

Andrea recently joined the St Roccos family as a volunteer in the Lymm Shop. Andrea wants to support her local hospice in any way that she can and so signed up to model in the Fashion, Food & Fizz event.

She is looking forward to the experience and modelling Sorelle Style clothing on the night. We think that Andrea is a true inspiration for taking this challenge on just a month into starting her volunteering with us.

Meet our fifth model, Emma

Emma Robinson, the joint owner with her sister of Robinson Irish Dance Academy, told us she had to get involved when she heard about our fashion show in aid of the Hospice. She is a breast cancer survivor and has also had a double mastectomy and reconstruction. Due to her experience, Emma understands how vital the care she received is.

By modelling for St. Rocco's, Emma wants to help others by letting them know they will feel confident again. She said, "Even if I can help one person". Emma is determined to beat her £500 fundraising target for the Hospice. Please come and support Emma at the Fashion Food and Fizz on the 17th of June at the Park Royal.

Meet our sixth model, Kathryn

Kathryn Harvey jumped at the chance to get involved in St Rocco's Fashion, Food and Fizz. Signing up to model and fundraise to support patient care at the hospice. She understands the importance of hospice care due to relatives that have received it and the impact this care has on patients and their families. She said, "You don't realise how the care is life-changing until you know someone close to you."

Kathryn has two jobs working part-time for a high street fashion company and as an accountant for the rest of the week. Her passion for clothes and background in finance makes a perfect combination for modelling at our fashion show.

Meet our seventh model, Faye

Faye is a fantastic addition to our team for St. Roccos Fashion, Food & Fizz. She has modelled since the age of 18 for "Victoria Kay's bridal" and "Forever Yours Bridal" fashion wear all over Europe.

Now a mother of two, she is excited and honoured to help St. Roccos. Faye is looking forward to modelling and supporting the other models on the night. "St. Rocco's is a charity close to my heart," she explained, "because my family has received tremendous support from them in the past."

Meet our eighth model, Alison

Alison Bullock decided to sign up as a model in the Fashion, Food & Fizz event to support both hospice care and local ladies boutique, Sorelle Style. Alison was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 39 turning her life upside down. Without the help and kindness of her family, friends, work colleagues and medical staff at Warrington, Halton and Clatterbridge she could not have got through that dark time of her life.

Alison has never done anything like this before but is keen to raise as much as she can by stepping out to model for St Roccos.

Meet our ninth model, Leanne

Owner of the award winning BRHAIVE Hair and beauty Salon in Stockton Heath, Leanne will be joining the modelling team at our upcoming Fashion, Food & Fizz. With no previous modelling experience, Leanne will be sticking by the ethos of her salon of being brave by taking on this challenge. BRHAIVE is all about stepping out of your comfort zone, so it seemed a perfect fit.

Leanne told us she likes to help charities in any way she can with her business so when she heard we were looking for models decided to sign up. Leanne is keen to raise as much as possible for St Roccos through this challenge to support the patients and families that we care for.

Meet our 10th Model, Freya

At just 15 years old and a year 10 student at King's Warrington, Freya Allen has signed up to model in St Roccos Fashion, Food & Fizz as it is a cause close to her heart. Freyas family have had personal experiences with St Roccos and the feedback is that it is a wonderful service. As our youngest model, we think Freya is an inspiration and cannot wait to see her modelling Sorelle Style clothing on the night. Freya has no modelling experience but plentiful fundraising experience and so feels proud and excited to model for St Roccos. As a confident actress who has starred in multiple shows such as Annie and Beauty and The Beast, we think she will be a natural on stage - Go Freya!

Meet our eleventh model, Kate

Your donations will help motivate the models to get on the catwalk, and all the money raised will help the hospice continue its amazing care for the Warrington community. We would like to thank you for your support.
