Help us bridge the education gap in Oxford schools.
As of 2022, 41% of Year 6 pupils in England left primary school without reaching expected government standards in English or Maths: 22% higher than the figure recorded in 2019. Although Oxford may be widely known for its prestigious institutions, the repercussions of the pandemic and the recent cost of living crisis have critically affected Oxford primary schools.
During the pandemic, the educational gap has drastically increased due to the increased inability of students receiving free school meals to access the required technology for home learning. Moreover, the current crisis has caused school staff vacancies in Oxfordshire to increase by over 50% in the past year.
As a charity offering free tuition in Oxford's local primary schools, our work is more necessary now than ever.
This year, we plan to extend the reach of our work to new Oxford schools. To do this, we must undertake a costly recruitment drive. This is why your support is crucial. By recruiting, training, and sustaining a new team of tutors, we can offer more impactful support to the children in need.
