Urgent Appeal for Sudan

Sudan is experiencing a terrible crisis as a result of internal conflict which has led to thousands of people fleeing the violence and enduring miserable conditions with lack of shelter, food, water and medicine.

Universal Peace Federation (UPF-UK) is supporting the efforts of Mr A. Mekki Elsayed Ali, a Sudanese national who was appointed by UPF UK as an Ambassador for Peace 20 years ago for his track record of humanitarian projects in Europe and Africa. Mekki is working with agencies in Greece such as the Hellenic Red Cross to deliver urgent relief in the form of food (trahanas powdered soup), bottled water, tents, vital medications and medical equipment by container ship and air transport from Athens to Port Sudan via Jeddah. He will be working with trusted partner organizations to ensure prompt provision of life-saving assistance to those in need via agencies in Sudan including the Red Crescent.
