Suhail Rokadiya fell to his death in tragic mountaineering accident in Glencoe; Stob Coire nam Beith on Saturday 22 September 2018.
All those involved with the NRIEF have been shocked by the recent death of Suhail Rokadiya. He was an enthusiastic member of the last NRIEF expedition to Nepal. In his memory the NRIEF will use all the donations received until December 2018 specifically to create an educational resource in Suhail's name. We will buy fifty Oxford Handbooks of OMFS - one for each OMFS trainee in Nepal - and if we have sufficient funds we will establish a library in Suhail's name and keep it updated. If you are sharing this link using social media, we would ask you to be considerate to the sensitivities of Suhails family and loved ones at this very difficult time.
The responses by e-mail and through social media to NRIEF from Suhails trainers, trainee colleagues and everyone who knew him show how he was much loved and revered by his colleagues and friends in Scotland and the rest of the world (including Nepal) across OMFS.
An obituary for Suhail Rokadiya will be posted on the NRIEF website soon, and it will be submitted to the BJOMS. If you wish to leave a comment here on the donation page, we shall bring them together and send them to his parents.
Patrick Magennis, Chair of BAOMS Council, has already sent an official letter to Mr and Mrs Rokadiya from BAOMS, and a card of condolence which I sent on behalf of NRIEF.
