Summit for Sight - Climbing Snowdon for Beacon's 150th

This July, my partner, our three children, and I will be taking on a big family challenge, we’re going to be climbing Snowdon, one of the highest and most iconic mountains, in support of Beacon!

Beacon Centre for the Blind was established over 145 years ago with a purpose of supporting people with sight loss to live fuller, more independent lives. Covering the Black Country & Staffordshire our activity centres host well-being activities & programmes, talking news & employment opportunities.

Story

Standing at 1,085 metres, Snowdon is the tallest mountain in Snowdonia and in Wales, so it’s no small feat, especially with little legs in the mix!

Our family is taking on the challenge of climbing Snowdon together and its set to be a real adventure. With the kids aged 8, 15 and 17 its going to be a mammoth effort, especially for our youngest. But we’re all determined to reach the summit together.

We’re doing this to raise money for Beacon and to celebrate an incredible milestone, 150 years of supporting people living with sight loss. Beacon makes a real difference in so many lives, and we wanted to do something meaningful (and a bit adventurous!) to give back.

I’m hoping to raise £150 to help celebrate Beacon’s 150th birthday, and to support the amazing work they do every day.

£150 could provide 11 hours of reception support, the reception team takes thousands of calls every year, and for many people, that call is their first step in getting the help and support they need with sight loss.
