Summit2Sea Cycle Challenge

Organised by Moving Mountains

Moving Mountains Kenya Chairman Gilbert Njeru is cycling 690 kms from the summit of Mount Kenya to the Indian Ocean as a fundraiser for our work in Kenya. It's a huge challenge, from the glaciers to the sea and through the vast lion country of Tsavo!

Story

Summit2Sea Challenge

In April 2021 Gilbert Njeru decided that his next challenge should push him to new limits and hopefully encourage supporters to help our work in Kenya with disadvantaged children and communities.

In 2019 Gilbert climbed Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya, this year in 2021 he will cycle 690 kilometres from the summit of Mount Kenya to the Indian Ocean, a six day journey across glaciers, through bamboo forests and across the vast Tsavo National Park with the wild animals, through the tropical belt and down to the sea.

Gilbert has special permission to cycle through the Park, with an armed Ranger following in the support vehicle. Tsavo is famed for its man eating lions!

Good luck Gilbert, we think you might need some for this one!
