Story
For 15 years, Phoebe Sumter Medical Center has hosted the Sumter Pink walk to raise awareness of and recognize those affected by breast cancer. Weve had a long history of walking and honoring survivors, those we have lost, and those fighting breast cancer in our community in addition to providing general education to participants about screening and healthy lifestyles. This fall, we will continue to walk in honor of those with cancer, but we will do so virtually on October 24, 2020.
The Phoebe Sumter Foundation is raising funds that help provide needed support of local cancer services and patient emergency funds for our local patients in need. The Patient Emergency Funds are used to cover the cost of utility bills and other needs for families struggling with illness.
While it is changing, we hope you join us on October 24, 2020 for our beloved Sumter Pink event.
The Sumter Pink Walk will be a virtual walk held October 24th. Proceeds will assist patients in financial crisis, provide mammograms, and provide diagnostic and assistive supplies. There are opportunities to sponsor, donate, and volunteer to the cause by emailing phoebesumterfoundation@phoebehealth.com.
