Story
Ernie is a 7-year-old boy from Ardleigh in Essex who continues to amaze everyone with his strength, positivity and determination.
Born prematurely at 30 weeks and weighing just 3lb 11oz, Ernie suffered a bleed on the brain and was later diagnosed with Spastic Diplegic Cerebral Palsy at age 2. This condition affects the muscles in his legs, making walking and everyday movement extremely difficult.
Despite this, Ernie never gives up. With his walking aids, splints, lycra suit and wheelchair, he pushes forward with resilience. He inspires everyone with his smile and "can-do" attitude, earning him the name Super Ernie.
We are fundraising for Just4Children to provide Ernie with vital therapies, physio and specialist equipment not funded by the local authority. These make a huge difference in helping him build strength, confidence and independence.
Our ultimate goal is for Ernie to undergo Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) surgery at Great Ormond Street. SDR has the potential to reduce stiffness in his legs and transform his mobility. To show he is a strong candidate, Ernie is working hard every day on his physiotherapy, each step bringing him closer to this life-changing opportunity.
Every donation goes directly towards giving Ernie the best chance to thrive. With your support, we can continue to give him the superpowers he needs to keep moving forward.
