Our Work

Humanists care about many things: humanity and other non-human animals, human rights, democracy and secularism, the environment and the future.

As an organization, Humanists International focuses strategically on a set of human rights priorities grounded in humanist values. These priorities guide our advocacy work at the international level. We focus on issues where humanist perspectives are particularly relevant, where there is a need for coordinated global action, where trends cross national boundaries, or where important concerns are often overlooked or underrepresented in international decision-making.

This work helps defend freedom of religion or belief, challenge discrimination and intolerance, support gender equality and LGBTI+ rights, and ensure that secular and humanist voices are represented in international policymaking.
