Support this riverside garden and help bring biodiversity back to the South Bank

Since 1988, Bernie Spain Gardens has grown into a green oasis on the South Bank, offering a rare slice of nature in this unique part of Central London. Millions of residents, workers and visitors enjoy the park each year. Over time, the north side of the gardens has become tired due to its popularity. With your help, we will re-landscape this area and create a greener, healthier and more social space for generations to come.

Re-landscaping Bernie Spain Gardens

The plans will support the health and wellbeing of our community by introducing new trees and pollinator friendly plants, encouraging bees, birds and urban wildlife. We will improve lighting and pathways, installing more seating in the gardens and along the riverside walkway. We will also level the sloped area to create a large section of newly usable green space.

A dedicated space for the community

At the heart of this project will be a newly built Gardeners’ Pavilion – a multi-functional space for community activities, programmes and events. It will offer people of all ages opportunities to connect with nature and the outdoors.
