Story
The nature and length of our involvement will vary depending on individual’s needs, this may be for a few days or could be throughout childhood.
We want to go above and beyond what we currently offer, for example, we would love to have a safe outdoor garden space and a sensory room at Dunston Health Centre which would really help the children, including neurodivergent children, feel relaxed and reduce anxiety when they are attending medical appointments. The sensory room will help support children waiting for appointments with all the community services including the Bladder and Bowel Service, OT, Physio, Speech and Language and Podiatry who are based at Dunston Health Centre.
Some children with disabilities will attend a lot of appointments and things like a sensory room or a safe outdoor garden space etc will make a big difference to them. Items such as sensory-friendly toys also make a huge difference to the children’s experience.
Through our efforts, we strive to create a brighter and more comfortable environment for the children we care for, ultimately improving the overall health and wellbeing of the Gateshead community we serve.
However we cannot achieve any of this without the help and support from our community. If you are able to make a donation, no matter how small, this would make a huge difference for the children we care for.
Thank you!
