Eight children and a woman on Tuesday were killed in a fire incident, which also saw more than 60 houses reduced to ashes, in village Faiz Muhammad Chandio, Mehar Taluka, Khairpur Nathan Shah, District Dadu, on late Monday night. The fire reportedly broke out in the kitchen of a hut. A separate incident took place in Rajab Ali Rind where no loss of human life was reported. However, dozens of farm animals were perished and houses burnt down.

Unfortunately, the families not only lost their loved ones and their houses/huts, they lost their livelihood as well because most farm animals like sheep, goats, cows and buffalos were perished in that fire. The harvesting season has finished recently and the survivors lost their stocks of wheat that would have been their annual consumption.

These families require immediate support for food, water, first aid while in the long run they require your support in rebuilding their houses and recover their livelihood. There are scenes of grief and despair all around while mother mourn the loss of their babies and communities are worried for their future.
