Story
4Cs of Passaic County's mission is to assist families in obtaining high quality early childcare and education that is accessible, available and affordable. Our vision is to serve every child in need of our services in Passaic County.
Child care is one of the top three expenses for families, so helping them pay for child care allows them to allot funds for other essentials. Parents have the opportunity to provide shelter, put food on the table, and buy clothing: the list is endless. Having high quality childcare ensures children are learning at their highest potential and allows the parent to go to work or school knowing that their child is well-cared for.
Even as we ensure that children in need receive access to the highest quality of affordable childcare, we also enable parents to work and attend school, and we train and educate individuals in the workforce. The follow-on effect is substantial: As documented by Dr. James Heckman (the Nobel Prize winning economist), there is a $7 return for every $1 invested in early childhood education. Heckman has also shown that our work has a long term impact: children who receive high quality early care/education have better life outcomes; e.g., their incomes as adults are as much as 25% higher.
