Organised by Quetzal

We rely on your donations to continue to deliver our services.

Our organisation is named after the Quetzal, a beautiful South American bird that is prized for its colourful feathers. Legend has it that the Quetzal dies when caged and so it has become a symbol of freedom. At the Quetzal Project we help women to break down the bars of their psychological cages and gain freedom. We empower vulnerable women to transform their lives by supporting their recovery from the trauma of childhood sexual abuse.

Story

Quetzal is a charity that was set up by a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and has evolved over the past 30 years from a small peer support group to a professional charity. We provide specialist trained counsellors, who offer trauma informed counselling to women who have also suffered childhood sexual abuse.
