Support Rachel Kiltie in the Great North Run 2026

Hello, I'm Rachel, a Consultant in Palliative Medicine at St Bede’s Palliative Care Unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead.

We want to improve the experience of our hospital for our patients by purchasing extra equipment or training which will make the difference. If you wish to support a particular ward or department, please state which one in your message and our finance team will ensure it goes to the right place.

Story

Every day, I have the privilege of caring for patients and families during some of the most challenging times in their lives. At St Bede’s, we are committed to providing not only expert medical care, but also comfort, dignity and compassion in a peaceful environment where families can spend precious time together and create lasting memories.

That is why I am taking on the Great North Run, to raise money for this truly special place and the people who rely on it.

The generosity of our supporters helps us do so much more for our patients and their loved ones. Donations fund vital equipment, specialist training for our staff, and improvements that make our unit feel warmer, more comfortable and more like home when it matters most.

If you can, please support my challenge with a donation. No matter how large or small, your contribution will make a real and lasting difference to the lives of local patients and families when they need it most. Thank you for your kindness and support.
