We are currently facing a crisis unprecedented in modern times. Whittington Health is confident that we have taken every necessary step to ensure we are in the best place to manage an extreme surge in patients, but this has only been possible by the incredible work of our fantastic staff.
The Coronavirus Crisis is going to be a marathon, not a sprint, and we need YOUR support to make sure we can continue working at maximum capacity. We are creating a dedicated 'Coronavirus Relief Fund' for all financial donations received during this time to ensure our staff can continue caring for, and protecting, our community.
We have been so overwhelmed by the level of support we've received in the past few months. We have been working hard to invest the money you have all donated to support the welfare of our staff and patients during this incredibly difficult time. Some of the projects we have already funded include:
A first class lounge area, run by a volunteer British Airways cabin crew team, where people can relax before and after their shifts
Extra furniture for our staff rooms
Patient discharge packs, which provide patients with essential supplies such as food and toiletries which they may not be able to acquire themselves if theyre COVID-19 positive
Free meals for all staff, breakfast, lunch and dinner
Refurbishing our chapel, Jewish room and multi-faith room, used by our pastoral team, often supporting bereaved families
A 12-berth bus, with kitchen area, break area and dining area, used by staff during nights to take breaks in between their shifts
Because of the incredible support we've received, our staff are now in a better position to care for, and protect, our local community. With your backing, we endeavour to keep on working to support the staff and patients of Whittington Health for the duration of the Coronavirus Crisis.
