Story
Before I came to SARSVL I was so traumatised and felt so sad and upset all the time, about what happened to me. When I started seeing the ISVA I started to feel more confident and got so much support from her. I would like to thank you for all the support that has helped me get through this. Thank you very much. - Anita*, a SARSVL Advocacy Service user
Sexual violence and grooming offences, reported to the police in the Leeds area, has grown by a significant 128% between 2013- 2016. This is just the tip of the iceberg, and provides a snapshot of the prevalence of sexual violence perpetrated against young women. SARSVL is dedicated to supporting all women and girls affected by rape and sexual violence of any kind at any time in their lives, and we are pleased to be expanding our Advocacy Service to young women (16-17 years old), in the New Year.
This winter, we are asking for donations to support the expansion of our Advocacy services to young survivors in the Leeds area. Every £1 donated will help young women access specialist support from our trained and experienced Independent Sexual Violence Advocate (ISVAs), in a women-only safe space.
Can you pledge £5 to support a young survivor?
£5 will pay for travel expenses to one session so a young woman can attend an appointment with our trained Independent Sexual Violence Advocates
£15 will pay for necessary childcare so a young woman is able to access our service
£40 will pay for one month's phone contract to enable our ISVAs to be in contact with a young woman more easily, and in a way that is more accessible
£50 will pay for 1 hour of interpretation services for women who require this support
£225 will pay for a resource to support 25 young women learn about recovery and find the courage to be themselves
Every £1 donated will make a difference in the lives of the young women who will access our Advocacy service. Help us support young survivors in 2019. Donate today, and share the word.
