SVR was established in 1910 to provide accommodation and support for ex-Service men and women of all ages who are homeless, isolated or in need. We have residences in Edinburgh, Dundee and Glasgow. We aim to help as many veterans as possible who are in need for as long as that need is there.

Story

Scottish Veterans Residences (SVR) is Scotland's oldest military charity, established in 1910. Our purpose is to provide quality accommodation and support to ex-servicemen and women who are homeless, isolated or in need, for as long as they need it in order to assist those that are able to return to independent living.

We work across three sites: Whitefoord House in Edinburgh (86 rooms), Rosendael in Dundee (44 rooms); and Bellrock Close in Glasgow (30 one-bedroom flats).

The support service is delivered by qualified staff and includes: assistance with welfare benefits, accessing and facilitating social and leisure activities, linking to community networks, employment mentoring and advice, counselling from qualified therapists. In addition there are numerous groups and activities that take place such as gardening, fitness training, golf, bowling, fishing and days out.
