SVR was established in 1910 to provide accommodation and support for ex-Service men and women of all ages who are homeless, isolated or in need. We have residences in Edinburgh, Dundee and Glasgow. We aim to help as many veterans as possible who are in need for as long as that need is there.

Story

We are raising money for PROJECT HERITAGE: Scottish Veterans Residences' 2025 campaign to restore the monument and memorial to former soldiers and sailors, situated in Edinburgh's Eastern Cemetery. This Zipslide Challenge is one way we hope to reach our target.

This important memorial honours and remembers many of the first Veterans to have lived in Whitefoord House, from SVR's creation in 1910.

Sadly, in recent years the stonework and plaques have fallen into a state of disrepair, and the memorial is in urgent need of some TLC.

We expect overall project costs to amount to at least £40,000 and we would welcome any donation, big or small, to help us reach our goal.

Thank you for your interest and support and well done to our Zipsliders.
