The majority of those affected most severely by the cold weather are vulnerable older people, many of whom are housebound with their suffering hidden from view.

All of these issues can very quickly see a significant drop in an individuals physical and mental wellbeing and a dramatic rise in their need for support from our National Health Service. A figure which clearly illustrates this is that for every winter death, there are a further 7 hospital admissions.

Suffolk Community Foundation is asking you to donate your Winter Fuel Payment if you dont need it or simply make a donation to help another older person is Suffolk desperately in need of extra support this winter. Every penny that you give to the Surviving Winter Appeal will quickly be distributed to an older person in Suffolk to heat their home.
