Imagine being a young person and discovering that you have a real talent for something.

Perhaps you’re an incredible cyclist, maybe you can play the piano at a level beyond what’s expected of you, or you dream of becoming an entrepreneur.

You have the skill, determination and ambition. But then, you have a new opportunity which you need specialist coaching for, or you need to buy a new piece of equipment or you have to travel to a competition and you can’t afford it.

For too many talented young people, this is where the journey stops.

The South Yorkshire Mayor's Youth Impact Fund is here to change that.

It will support gifted young people aged 11 to 19 across Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield, helping remove the financial barriers that can prevent them from reaching their potential.

Grants of £2,000 to £10,000 can help cover costs and make a genuine difference to a young person’s future.

The Fund has been established through a partnership between South Yorkshire’s Mayor Oliver Coppard, South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, The King’s Trust and South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation.

The Fund has already received an initial £25,000 donation from South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, alongside support from a network of ambassadors.

We’re inviting businesses, organisations and individuals to add to this support and help us grow the Fund, so we can reach even more talented young people across South Yorkshire.

Every donation, large or small, can help create more opportunities for young people to develop their talents, pursue their ambitions and take their next step.

Talent is everywhere in South Yorkshire. Opportunity should be too.
