Story

The Haven Hub is a community hub in the heart of Westcliff, offering activities, support and advice to many older and isolated people in Southend and surrounding areas. It has a Dementia Day Centre, holds over 30 classes for all ages and abilities, offers services such as carers support, IT support and form filling, has a charity shop, a cafe, a befriending service to over 150 people, and so much more.

The Haven Hub is run by Age Concern Southend, who are a small independent charity. They do not receive any funding from the NHS or the government .

In December 2024 Age Concern Southend were awarded £960,000 from The Community Ownership Fund to purchase the building. This is 80% of the purchase price, and they are now working hard to raise the other 20%, which is £240.000.

By purchasing the building the charity will save £90,000 per year on rent, which will enable them to provide more services, and support many more people.

By donating to their 'Save The Haven' Campaign you will help secure the future of The Haven Hub and Age Concern Southend.
