Hey sports fans, Doug H here!
Fancy joining a community to get fitter, while helping a good cause AND even winning some free physiotherapy and PT with me!?
In May & June for 6 weeks we are hoping that you lovely people will help us accumulate 20,000km of distance needed to race from the UK to West Africa, across to East Africa and down into South Africa (virtually ofc;).
To enter couldn't be simpler, just click on the green give now button on the top of this page and pay your £20 registration and you are good to go! (Leave your name if possible)
Jump on any cardio machines in the gym, go for a run, swim or cycle outdoors or count up the distances in a WOD (yes even handstand walks count). The more and the sweatier post-workout pictures the better!
If you are on Strava join our groups to log your distance or alternatively send me a picture of your distance and mode of travel if you use another device or just send me a message of your distance and mode of travel every week:

**Check the team's progress on our live tracker on this link:** https://racetoafrica.run/ You can also check out the whole route, meet TackleAfrica coaches, find out more about their work (more info below) learn about the issues they tackle and be inspired by some of the beautiful countries and landmarks you will be travelling through.
We will be giving out prizes for the greatest distance accumulated (and this will be adjusted so that the people that cycle downhill don't just hoover up all the prizes!), to those who unlock achievement badges by completing a variety of different exercises, AND to a few volunteers selected in a raffle on competition days so everyone has a chance of some free physio and pt.
Fancy setting yourself your own goal? Want to raise more for TackleAfrica? Set up your own mini challenge: Pick your target distance, set your fundraising goal and create your own page as part of my campaign (Click the orange start fundraising button on this page)
Who are we doing this for?
TackleAfrica uses the power and popularity of football to deliver HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information and services to young people on football pitches across the continent. We do this by training African football coaches, games teachers and community leaders to use fun, interactive football sessions with inbuilt health messaging with their players.
Alongside receiving sexual health information during football sessions, players also have the chance to access sexual health services at sessions and football tournaments, such as HIV testing, condoms and other contraception, and referrals to further clinical services.
