Story
Every day, 250 people start to lose their sight.
Sight loss can be devastating. Many people can no longer read letters or emails, make and receive phone calls, return to work, or get out to visit friends.
It can remove a persons independence as they have to rely on others for simple day-to-day tasks, which can lead to low self-esteem, lack of confidence and depression.
Sight loss can make the world a dangerous and scary place. People need to re-learn how to safely use their kitchen (even tasks as simple as making a hot drink). Moving around home can be difficult and finding a way to safely walk outside can seem impossible.
A diagnosis of sight loss can be devastating. But help is available, and we want to be there to make sure people in Wiltshire dont just survive but thrive after sight loss.
