Story
This year, the Telugu Association of London (TAL) is bringing our community together for a challenge that combines fitness, wellbeing, determination, and giving back.
Our “1 Million Steps in 100 Days” fundraiser encourages participants to take on a personal journey of health and endurance while raising funds for meaningful charitable causes and community initiatives.
The idea is simple: walk 1 million steps over 100 days. But the impact goes far beyond numbers.
Every step taken represents support for people and communities who need help the most. Through this campaign, TAL aims to continue supporting a range of charitable causes, building on the work we have proudly carried out over the years. Previous TAL fundraising efforts have helped provide books and educational resources to disadvantaged children, supported young athletes with sports kits and equipment, and supplied food and essentials to students and families during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year’s fundraiser will continue supporting causes focused on education, youth development, wellbeing, community relief, and humanitarian support.
At the same time, this challenge also encourages participants to prioritise their own physical and mental wellbeing. In today’s busy world, finding time to stay active can be difficult. The 1 Million Steps challenge is about motivating each other to move more, build healthier habits, stay connected as a community, and achieve something meaningful together.
Whether participants walk in parks, on streets, at work, on treadmills, or during family outings, every step contributes towards something bigger than themselves.
This campaign is open to everyone — walkers of all ages and fitness levels. Some may aim to complete the challenge competitively, while others may simply use it as motivation to become more active. What matters most is the shared purpose behind it.
By supporting this fundraiser, you are helping TAL continue its mission of serving communities through compassion, culture, and collective action.
Together, one million steps at a time, we can improve lives — including our own.
Thank you for supporting TAL and being part of this journey.
