An Appeal from the Dar Ul Muslimeen Orphanage
I have been blessed with the opportunity of going to Iraq and Syria during a period known as Arbaeen.
This period is important, for me personally for multiple reasons. One aspect of which is a walk from the city of Najaf in Iraq to the city of Karbala, 49 miles ( 80kms) away. In real terms it is approximately 3 days of walking and is done by literally millions of people every year. The walk is seen as a spiritually inspiring experience.
As part of this walk, I will be looking to raise money for a charity very close to my heart. It is called Dar ul Muslimeen orphanage and is based in my country of origin - Tanzania. Run by two individuals ( one of whom I have had the huge honour to get to know personally) the orphanage receives very few donations but which does awe-inspiring work to help children who are orphaned or rescued from abusive parents/family.
For more information please review - https://ahlulbayt.tv/ondemand/episode/a554t6ba/A_Family_Of_Orphans_Adopted_Orphans_In_Tanzania/
At present, there are 34 children in the orphanage and to provide them with primary education, there is a cost of £15 per month. I hope to raise enough to fund this for 12 months and will personally be contributing the greater of £200 or 10% of sums donated.
Our supporting charity The Lady Fatemah Trust, have very generously offered to double the amount raised to reach our new target.
As per the policy, of our supporting charity, all the money raised will be used towards the children and no money will be used for admin. This money will be used for the of education of the children.
Please help support this great cause.
