We offer a warm welcome to people from all backgrounds – whether you are here to find out more about the Christian faith, or you are a Christian seeking a spiritual home, or you just want to see what a Chinese church is like. We hope you will find your place here with us and find God among us.

Story

Our team will be in Tanzania from 18th Dec 2023 to 2nd Jan 2024 for our first ever STM in this part of the world. We look forward to seeing and engaging with what God is doing there, and supporting Janice and Mads and their ministry work.

We are fundraising for the church mission fund, which supports various mission projects and short term mission teams. This includes the following two main ministries run by our supported missionaries Janice and Mads:

Carpentry School

This school is run in the city of Sumbawanga, and aims to empower young men from along Lake Tanganyika by teaching them the craft so that they can support themselves and their families in the future. In order to increase the capacity for students, and to register the school in the government’s system, they plan to move this school to their sewing school’s site. The two institutions will become a collective vocational training centre. £13,500 is needed for the move and for renovating existing buildings. We would like to invite you to participate in this move! If you would like to know more details about this project, please feel free to contact Mads Refshauge Jakobsen (mrj@bdm-dk.dk) and Janice Leung Jakobsen (jlj@bdm-dk-dk).

Peter's House

Peter's House is an orphan's home, also in Sumbawanga, with 28 young people under its care. 22 of them are living there and attending local schools, and 6 studying in universities or vocational training centres in other parts of Tanzania. At Peter’s House the children not only receive food, clothing, and care from local workers, but also learn various life skills like vegetable gardening and keeping livestock. They keep cows, rabbits, chickens, and take care of the 80 avocado trees that they have planted. We would appreciate your contribution to the continuous operation of Peter’s House.

We look forward to sharing more with you upon our return!
