Story
In 2024, Disability Positive launched a new social group for adults with lived experience of disability and long-term health conditions living in and around Tarporley.
This group was created to address a need in the local community for rurally delivered social activities which members could attend independently, without the need for a parent or carer present.
Tarporley Social Circle provides members with the opportunity to develop independence, increase self-esteem and confidence, and expand their social networks, forming new friendships in their local community.
The group currently meet regularly in Cotebrook Village Hall, and take part in a variety of activities including yoga, canoeing, cookery, pottery and social nights including meals out and trips to the local pub.
Why Tarporley Social Circle is important:
“Harry came back from last week’s trip in the best form we’ve probably seen him since he left college, he loved it and would like to go again. Who knew there was a budding archer in the family? Thanks to all of you who made it such a success, this group is making a really positive difference to his life. He was particularly communicative on his return, again in a way we haven’t seen for a while. It meant he was really engaged with a family get together later in the day.”
Help us continue making a positive difference to the lives of people like Harry by making a donation now.
