Story
This week we have had two unchipped and unneutered boys in, both hit by cars. At the start of the week we had Barney with a fractured jaw, he’s had surgery and is doing well. Our newest boy in is this handsome brut of a boy, who we have called Geoff, and who has suffered serious trauma. His main injury is a rupture of the prepubic tendon and abdominal wall, which means his abdominal organs are no longer properly supported. This needs urgent surgery tomorrow
He also has several other injuries, including:
• A small fracture to the pelvis and hip area that
• A tail-pull injury, which can affect nerve function
• Reduced movement and feeling in his tail
After his life-saving surgery, his veterinary team will be closely monitoring:
• His ability to control his bowels
• Sensation in his tail and back end
• His bladder, to make sure he can urinate properly
With tail-pull injuries, it can take up to four weeks before vets can assess how much recovery is possible.
Geoff is stable, receiving the best pain relief, and being carefully monitored. He’s had a very rough start, but he’s now safe, warm, and being cared for.
💔 We can’t do this without help.
The cost of Barney and now Geoff’s urgent surgery is beyond what we can absorb alone. If you’re able to donate, share, or fundraise on Geoff’s behalf, you will be giving him a chance at recovery and a future he so nearly lost. Every single pound truly makes a difference.
Thank you for standing with us when it’s hardest.
