On Friday 31st March out and proud trans and gender diverse people will be making themselves visible. Some might do podcasts, others will invite questions from friends or colleagues. For some this day is the day they come out, make themselves visible as trans, or non-binary, or gender fluid or questioning, for the first time. In their honour, and for all those who are not visible we are asking you to show your support for trans people by donating to Beyond Reflections so we can continue delivering our life-saving, life-changing services.

People come to Beyond Reflections for support around gender diversity. They may want to know more about their own or anothers identity. To use our safe spaces to ask questions, access counselling and support groups where they can come to understand themselves better, to put words and context around their thoughts and feelings.

Others are comfortable in their sense of their own gender identity, they come to us because they want to work out their next steps. To consider transition, or visibility, on their own terms.

Some of our members come to us already secure in the knowledge of their gender identity, and in their goals for the future. They join Beyond Reflections to meet with others of similar life experiences, to find their tribe and some social space.

Many of our members come for a little bit of everything. As each works with our trained volunteers they come to understand themselves better, to build their self-esteem, to recognise when they are choosing to act from their own understanding of themself and when they are simply responding to conditions imposed upon them. Our members go on to make healthy decisions about their future, to have better relationships with others and to thrive.

We know that not every trans or gender diverse person will transition and that every transition is different.

We know that not every trans, non-binary or gender questioning (TNQ) person wants to be visible. For many the idea of visibility is an intrusion, an unwarranted pressure. And so Beyond Reflections is asking for your help to make our charity more visible so we can continue to act on their behalf. To show that authenticity is amazing and that when people are accepted and respected, they thrive.
